‘Sustainability with style’ are the watchwords for the new e-commerce site from Pod, with the launch range produced in collaboration with another Lola client - Patternity.
When corporate gift supplier, Pod Packaging, started working with Lola back in April, owner Mark Glanville was looking to reinvigorate growth in his business with some new thinking.
During the next two or three conversations, we realised that hidden in his business was an amazing amount of knowledge about the properties of recycled aluminium - a material he used to create many of the corporate gifts Pod supplied.
This was just at the time that the image of the turtle with its nose impaled with a straw went viral - and the world got serious about the dangers of single use and other plastics.
By using recycled aluminium which is both lightweight, endlessly recyclable and food/drink safe, we came up with a D2C offer to help consumers replace plastic in their lives with stylish, well designed products.
Working with Patternity pattern-mavens Grace Winteringham and Anna Murray who created a range of positive patterns to put on the launch range of 100ml aluminium travel bottles made perfect sense.
With lots more products to roll out over the next few months, that all align with the company’s sustainability ethos, it’s an exciting time to watch this business thrive.
